On December 1-2, the CNB-You team participated in the conference “Harmonized longitudinal data on social structure: Polish research in a cross-national perspective”, organized by the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

On the second day of the conference, a session of the CNB-Young project entitled “POLPAN in the international context: the movement towards harmonization in the CNB-Young project” took place. During the session, we presented our approach to employment precarity and discussed the methodological issues and challenges in harmonizing the surveys on which our project is based (POLPAN, SOEP, BHPS / Understanding Society and NLSY). The discussant of our session was prof. Michael Gebel from the University of Bamberg. Michael Gebel is the head of the ERC funded SECCOPA project (https://seccopa.de) which studies the socio-economic consequences of temporary employment in a longitudinal and cross-national perspective.
